RE: DECLARATION OF SCRAP METAL AS SURPLUS FROM THE BUILDING MAINTENANCE
DEPARTMENT.
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado,
pursuant to Colorado Statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested
with the authority of administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS, the Superintendent of Buildings and Grounds has informed the
Board that he does have scrap metal from wiring, motors, and other construc-
tion projects in County buildings available to be disposed of as salvage
metal , and
WHEREAS, the Superintendent of Buildings and Grounds has informed the
Board that there is no need for the retention of the scrap metal for County
purposes and it would be in the interest of the County to salvage the metal
by selling it to a scrap metal dealer, and
WHEREAS, the Purchasing Procedures in Weld County require that the Board
declare any property that is no longer needed or usable for County purposes
surplus prior to disposition of such property.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners
of Weld County, Colorado that the above described scrap metal no longer re-
quired for County purposes by the Building and Grounds Department be, and
hereby is , declared surplus County property, and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County,
Colorado, that the Purchasing Agent is hereby directed to receive quotes for the
sale of the abovementioned scrap metal , and to then dispose of such surplus
scrap metal at the maximum sales price and to deposit the proceeds from the
sale of such surplus scrap metal into the General Fund of Weld County, Colorado,
in accordance with the Purchasing Policies and Procedures.
The above and foregoing resolution was, on motion duly made and seconded,
adopted by the following vote on the 31st day of March, A.D. , 1980.
