RE: Notice of the Need for the Control or Eradication of Noxious Weeds
Dear Landowner:
Under provision of the Colorado Weed Management Act(35-5.5-109 CRS), this letter is to serve as notice that the
presence of noxious weeds has been observed on property which is owned,leased,and/or occupied by you ant located
in Section 9 , Township 1 North, Range 68 West of the 6th P.M., Weld County, Colorado. The properly is
designated in the Weld County Assessors Office as parcel(s) number(s) 146709100004 and 146709000009
The noxious weeds present on the property include;Musk thistle(Carduus nutans), Canada Thistle(Cirsium arverse),
and Russian Knapweed(Acroptilon repens).
When musk thistle is in the rosette stage,it is optimum time for control. The best method of control or eradication is
to use herbicides that are labeled for the specific weed and site.or by mechanical means. such as mowing two to
three times during the summer. The plants must be kept from going to seed.
Section 35 5.5-109,C.R.S. requires you to control the weeds by using at least one of these methods. Please be
advised that if you do not control or eradicate these weeds by May 26. 2000 , I will ask the Board of County
Commissioners of Weld County for permission to enter the property to use one of these methods of control or
eradication at your expense, as provided in Section 35-5.5-109 (5a)C.F.S.
I will he glad to answer any questions you may have regarding the control or eradication of the noxious weeds on the
property. I am also available to assist you in developing short and long term weed management plans. The ofh re phone
number is 356-4000,EXT.3770 or 3772. Please ask for Ron Broda or me.
Sincerely,
Tina Booton
