Box 758 Greeley, Colorado 80632-0758 RE: Emergency Streambank Protection near Windsor, Colorado Gentlemen: An inspection of the Emergency Streambank Protection Project constructed to protect County Road 27 and Bridge 27-62b on the Cache la Poudre River was recently completed. Overall, the project was in fair condition. It was noted that the project is losing riprap at the waters edge. Especially at Sta 7+35. At Sta 8+50 the river is eroding the soil along the windrow refusal and the refusal is starting to lose rock. It is recommended that this Riprap and soil be replaced to maintain the integrity of the project. It is also recommended that woody vegetation control be initiated. Box 758 Greeley, Colorado 80632-0758 RE: Emergency Streambank Protection near Johnstown, Colorado Gentlemen: An inspection of the Emergency Streambank Protection Project constructed to protect County Road 17 where it crosses the Big Thompson River was recently conducted. The project was found to be in fair condition. There is still one tree growing in the riprap, which we recommend be removed to maintain the structural integrity of the project. The Riprap is starting to break down. This Riprap should be replaced with Riprap as specified in the Operation and Maintenance manual. There is head cutting above the project that should be repaired.
