Home My WebLink About20002572.tiff RECORD OF PROCEEDINGS MINUTES BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS WELD COUNTY, COLORADO OCTOBER 25, 2000 TAPE#2000-30 The Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, met in regular session in full conformity with the laws of the State of Colorado at the regular place of meeting in the Weld County Centennial Center, Greeley, Colorado, October 25, 2000, at the hour of 9:00 a.m. ROLL CALL: The meeting was called to order by the Chair and on roll call the following members were present, constituting a quorum of the members thereof: Commissioner Barbara J. Kirkmeyer, Chair - EXCUSED Commissioner M. J. Geile, Pro-Tem Commissioner George E. Baxter Commissioner Dale K. Hall Commissioner Glenn Vaad Also present: County Attorney, Bruce T. Barker Acting Clerk to the Board, Esther E. Gesick Director of Finance and Administration, Donald D. Warden MINUTES: Commissioner Hall moved to approve the minutes of the Board of County Commissioners meeting of October 23, 2000, as printed. Commissioner Vaad seconded the motion, and it carried unanimously. ADDITIONS TO AGENDA: There were no additions to the agenda. CONSENT AGENDA: Commissioner Vaad moved to approve the consent agenda as printed. Commissioner Baxter seconded the motion, and it carried unanimously. COMMISSIONER COORDINATOR REPORTS: There were no Commissioner Coordinator Reports. PUBLIC INPUT: There was no public input. WARRANTS: Donald Warden, Director of Finance and Administration, presented the following warrants for approval by the Board: All Funds $159,160.12 Commissioner Baxter moved to approve the warrants as presented by Mr. Warden. Commissioner Vaad seconded the motion, which carried unanimously. 2000-2572 BC0016 BIDS: PRESENT BIDS: Mr. Warden stated there are no bids to present. APPROVE REHABILITATION OF BRIDGE ABUTMENTS BID - DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS: Mr. Warden stated the Department of Public Works recommends approval of the low bid from G.I_. Hoff Company, in the amount of$72,886.25. In response to Commissioner Vaad,Drew Scheltinga, Department of Public Works, stated he had initial concerns regarding the drastic differences in cost; however, after speaking with the low bidder, he is satisfied that the low bid amount will cover the cost of materials and labor. He further stated there are certificates of insurance and payment bonds for the project. In response to Commissioner Baxter, Mr. Warden stated this company has done other projects for Weld County. Commissioner Baxter moved to approve said bid as recommended by staff. Seconded by Commissioner Vaad, the motion carried unanimously. NEW BUSINESS: CONSIDER FOUR EXPENDITURE AUTHORIZATION REQUESTS FOR VARIOUS WORKFORCE INVESTMENT ACT TITLE 1 PROGRAMS AND AUTHORIZE CHAIR TO SIGN: Walt Speckman, Director of Human Services, stated the four expenditure authorization requests will transfer funds from the various Job Training Partnership Act (JTPA) to Workforce Investment Act(W IA)Title I Adult, Dislocated Worker, and Youth Programs,as well as Statewide Activities. Commissioner Vaad moved to approve said requests and authorize the Chair to sign. Commissioner Baxter seconded the motion, which carried unanimously CONSIDER CANCELLATION OF BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS MEETING SCHEDULED FOR NOVEMBER 29, 2000: Commissioner Hall moved to approve said cancellation. Commissioner Vaad seconded the motion, which carried unanimously. RESOLUTIONS AND ORDINANCES: The resolutions were presented and signed as listed on the consent agenda. No Ordinances were approved. Let the minutes reflect that the above and foregoing actions were attested to and respectfully submitted by the Acting Clerk to the Board.
