Dear Commissioners,
We are writing on behalf of the Craig's Rocky Mountain Wildlife Center. We
have known Pat and Shelley Craig since they moved to our area in 1994. We have
visited their facility many times and we have taken visitors to see their animals. It is a
very well run center and the animals are extremely well cared for. They have been
good neighbors and have never caused any problems.

WELD COUNTY COMMISSIONERS,
IT HAS RECENTLY COME TO OUR ATTENTION THAT THERE IS SOME TYPE OF PROBLEM
CONCERNING THE ROCKY MOUNTAIN WILD LIFE CENTER, WHICH IS OWNED AND OPERATED
BY PAT AND SHELLY CRAIG.
WE WOULD LIKE TO VOICE OUR OPINIONS ON THE CENTER. WE HAVE LIVED JUST
1/2 MILE EAST OF THE CENTER FOR APPROXIMATELY 18 MONTHS, AND HAVE KNOWN THE
CRAIG'S FOR AROUND 4 YEARS. WE HAVE THREE DAUGHTERS, AGES 14, 12 AND 9. WE
ARE VERY CAUTIOUS PARENTS. WE HAVE VISITED AND EXAMINED THE ANIMAL COMPOUND
SEVERAL TIMES, BEFORE ALLOWING ANY OF OUR CHILDREN TO SPENT ANY TIME THERE
WITHOUT OUR SUPERVISION. WE FEEL THAT OUR KIDS ARE IN NO DANGER FROM ANY OF
THE ANIMALS. THEY WERE TOLD THE RULES AND FOLLOW THEM COMPLETELY. WE HAVE
A_..AYS FOUND THE CENTER TO BE CLEAN AND THE ANIMALS ARE VERY WELL CARED FOR
AND LOVED. WE HAVE NEVER FELT UNSAFE WHILE VISITING THERE.
WHATEVER THE PROBLEMS THE COUNTY MAY HAVE WITH THE CENTER I WOULD HOPE
IT IS NOT SERIOUS, BECAUSE IT WOULD BE DETRIMENTAL TO THE ANIMALS AND THE
CRAIG'S SHOULD THE CENTER NOT BE ALLOWED TO OPERATED IN THE SAME MANNER AS
IT HAS FOR THE PAST SEVERAL YEARS.

To Whom It May Concern;
We bought 80 acres at the corner of WCR 6 and WCR 55 in the spring of 1994.In March of
1995 we placed a modular on this property.Before moving the modular to this property,we
had several conversations with Pat Craig who own the property just west of our parcel.We
were aware that the Craig's had a compound on their property,housing many wild animals.
The Craig's have taken every precaution at the compound,to assure the safety of the
community and the safety of the animals he had saved from uncertin fate.These animals have
been a delight to family and friends and very educational for the children.
Pat and Shelly Craig are very knowledgeable when it comes to the health and well being of the
animals they house at their compound.We applaud their efforts,this is a great expense and
they take this commitment very seriously.
