RE:: APPROVE INSTALLATION OF TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICES ON WELD COUNTY
ROAD 5 AT WELD COUNTY ROAD 38
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to
Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of
administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS, the Weld County Department of Public Works has recommended to the
Board that "Stop" and "Yield" signs be installed on Weld County Road 5 at Weld County
Road 38, to ensure safety to the traveling public, and
WHEREAS, the Board has determined that said traffic control devices are necessary for
the protection of the general public.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of
Weld County, Colorado, that the Department of Public Works be, and hereby is, directed to
install "Stop" and "Yield" signs on Weld County Road 5 at Weld County Road 38, for the safety
of the general public, and said signs shall conform to the State Manual of Uniform Traffic
Control Devices.
The above and foregoing Resolution was, on motion duly made and seconded, adopted
by the following vote on the 28th day of June, A.D., 2000.

SUBJECT: Intersection Study WCR 5 and WCR 38
COLORADO
The Department of Public Works reviewed the sight distance at the intersection of W CR 5 an( `N R
38. This intersection is offset and has no traffic control. The wide turning radii on the nod! s tle
of the intersection is particularly hazardous as it creates three very close intersections in the :p ice
of one. I recommend Stop signs and Yield signs be installed as shown on the attached dra•vi ng.
Furthermore, I recommend the additional gravel be removed on the north side reducing this ti)v v= o
perpendicular intersections. Stop signs will remain on the north and south roadways.
