Weld County Council District 3 Position Resumes
Accepted until March 17 - for Review March 21
The Weld County Council will review resumes for Council District 3 position at
its March 21 , 2000 meeting at Weld County Centennial Center, 915 10th St., Greeley,
CO, 6:30 p.m. Resumes will be received until 5:00 p.m. March 17.
The Weld County Council, created by the Weld County Home Rule Charter in
1976, consists of five nonpartisan elected members, one representing each district and
two at-large members. The Council members receive no salary for their services, but
are reimbursed for actual and necessary expenses.
Applicants for the District 3 vacancy must be registered electors of Weld County
and reside in District 3. Qualified applicants may send a resume to the Weld County
Council, P. Q. Box 758, Greeley, CO 80632. Resumes must be received by 5:00 p.m.,

March 17, 2000. One may verify if his residence is in Weld County's District 3 by
telephoning the Weld County Election Department, (970) 304-6525.
The Council's home-rule mandated responsibilities include reviewing all aspects
of Weld County government and making periodic reports to the people. In addition the
Council is charged with 1) setting salaries of elected County officials, 2) filling vacancies
on the Board of County Commissioners and on the Weld County Council, 3)
suspending any elected official formally charged or indicated for the commission of a
crime, and 4) reviewing conflicts of interest between any county officer, member of an
appointed board or employee, and any enterprise or organization doing business with
Weld County.
Council meetings are open to the public and provide a forum for Weld residents
to ask questions or to suggest ideas on issues concerning Weld County government.
