SOILS INFORMATION
Empire Laboratories, Inc . prepared a Preliminary M:_nera1
Evaluation dated January 21 , 1987 . The report found the ste to
contain topsoil and overburden materials such as silty clay,
sandy silt, and silty sand. The depth of the topsoil at t!-,.'_ s:. to
was six inches and the overburden thickness varied from 5-._ /2 to
9-1/2 feet. The minable resource , sand and gravel, ranged in
thickness from 6 to 14 feet. Siitstone bedrock was enc:'untered

Ring-necked pheasant, mourning dove, and many non-
game species can be attracted by establishing areas for
nesting and escape cover. For pheasants, undisturbed
nesting cover is essential and should be included in plans
for habitat development, especially in areas of intensive
agriculture.
Where this soil is on flood plains and is susceptible to ,
flooding it, has poor potential for urban and recreational
development. On the higher terraces the potential is fair.
Dwelling and road designs need to be modified to in-
crease the capacity of the soil to support a load and to
protect it against frost action. Capability subclass IIw ir-
