RE: PETITION TO GRAND JUNCTION CITY COUNCIL FOR ANNEXATION GRAND
JUNCTION HEAD START PROPERTY AND AUTHORIZE CHAIR TO SIGN
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to
Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of
administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS, the Board has been presented with a Petition for Annexation to the City
Council of the City of Grand Junction, Colorado, for the Grand Junction Head Start Property,
from the County of Weld, State of Colorado, by and through the Board of County
Commissioners of Weld County, on behalf of the Department of Human Services, with terms
and conditions being as stated in said petition, and
WHEREAS, after review, the Board deems it advisable to approve said petition, a copy
of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of
Weld County, Colorado, that the Petition for Annexation to the City Council of the City of Grand
Junction, Colorado, for the Grand Junction Head Start Property, from the County of Weld, State
of Colorado, by and through the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, on behalf of
the Department of Human Services, be, and hereby is, approved.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the Board that the Chair be, and hereby is, authorized
to sign said petition.
The above and foregoing Resolution was, on motion duly made and seconded, adopted
by the following vote on the 29th day of March, A.D., 2000.

HEADSTART ANNEXATION
PETITION FOR ANNEXATION
WE THE UNDERSIGNED do hereby petition the City Council of the City of Grand
Junction, State of Colorado, to annex the following described parcels to the said City:
ADDRESS: 3093 E '/4 Road & Tax Parcel #2943-094-77-002
Lot 2 of 31 Road Business Park, Mesa County, Colorado.
This foregoing description describes the parcel; the perimeter boundary descriptions, for
purposes of the Annexation Act, is shown on the attached "Perimeter Boundary Legal
Description, Headstart annexation."
As grounds therefore, the petitioner respectfully state that annexation to the City of Grand
Junction, Colorado is both necessary and desirable and that the said territory is eligible for
annexation in that the provisions of the Municipal Annexation Act of 1965, Sections 31-12-104
and 31-12-105 CRS 1973 have been met.
This petition is accompanied by four copies of a map or plat of the said territory, showing
its boundary and its relation to established city limit lines, and said map is prepared upon a
material suitable for filing.
Your petitioners further state that they are the owners of more than fifty percent of the
area of such territory to be annexed, exclusive of streets and alleys; that the mailing address of
each signer and the date of signature are set forth hereafter opposite the name of each signer, and
that the legal description of the property owned by each signer of said petition is attached hereto.
WHEREFORE, these petitioners pray that this petition be accepted and that the said
annexation be approved and accepted by ordinance.
