RE : APPROVE CONTRACT FOR LEGAL SERVICES
WHEREAS , the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County,
Colorado, pursuant to Colorado statute and the Weld County Home
Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of administering the
affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS , the Board of County Commissioners has been pre-
sented with a contract for legal services between Weld County
and Robert C. Burroughs, as special counsel for Weld County
Sheriff Harold Andrews in litigation proceedings entitled
Lewis N. Tydings, Jr. vs. Weld County Board of County
Commissioners, Weld County, Colorado, Sheriff Harold Andrews
and Undersheriff (Acting) Ricky G. Dill, and
WHEREAS , there is a conflict between Sheriff Harold
Andrews , a County Officer, and the Board of County Commissioners,
and
WHEREAS , Section 5-4 of the Weld County Home Rule
Charter allows the Board to appoint special counsel in the
event of such conflict.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County
Commissioners that the contract for legal services between
Weld County and Robert C. Burroughs , as special counsel be,
and hereby is , approved.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners
of Weld County, Colorado that the Chairman of the Board be,
and hereby is, authorized to sign said Contract for Legal
Services.
The above and foregoing Resolution was, on motion duly
made and seconded, adopted by the following vote on the 21st
day of December, A.D. , 1981.

CONTRACT FOR LEGAL SERVICES
WHEREAS, litigation has been commenced against Weld County, the
title of such litigation being Lewis N Tydings, Jr. vs Weld County Board of
Commissioners, Weld County, CO , U.onianumakbinesxxxxxxxxxxxxx,xxampc U. S. District Ct. No.
Sheriff Harold Andrews, & Undersheriff (Acting) Ricky G. Dill, 81-1723, and
WHEREAS, Sheriff Harold Andrews , a County officer, is also a
party to such litigation, and
WHEREAS, there is a conflict between such County officer and the
Board of County Commissioners, and
WHEREAS, Section 5-4 of the Weld County Home Rule Charter allows
the Board to appoint special counsel in the event of such conflict.
NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS AGREED to between the Board of County
Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, hereinafter "Weld County, "
and Robert C. Burroughs , hereinafter "special counsel , " as follows :
1. Special counsel shall represent Sheriff Harold Andrews
through all legal proceedings of the above mentioned litigation
until its termination.
2 . Weld County shall reimburse special counsel at the hourly
rate of $65.00 plus costs, and shall provide for such reimburse-
ment within thirty (30) days of special counsel having submitted a
bill for his services .
