WELD COUNTY COUNCIL

The Weld County Council met in special session in full conformity with the Weld County
Home Rule Charter at Weld Centennial Center, 915 10th Street, Greeley, CO,
Thursday, March 23, 2000, 6:30 p.m.
ROLL CALL: The meeting was called to order by Vice President Dwaine Kurtz.
Councilman Dan Oster and Councilwoman Joyce Smock were present, constituting a
quorum of the members. President Al Roberts was excused. Also present: Mr. Mitchell
Martin, Mr. John Cordes, and the Council secretary Bev Thomas.
Vice President Dwaine Kurtz stated that the sole purpose of the Council's meeting was
to interview two applicants to fill the opening of Councilman in District 3.
The Council first interviewed Mr. Mitchell Martin. Vice President Dwaine Kurtz recessed
the meeting at 7:00 p.m. and reconvened the meeting at 7:05 to interview Mr. John
Cordes.
After a brief recess, Councilman Dan Oster made a motion to select Mr. Mitchell Martin
as the Council person for District 3, filling the vacancy of Robert Masden. Vice
President Dwaine Kurtz seconded the motion. The motion carried and Mr. Martin was
chosen as the District 3 Councilman.
ADJOURNMENT: The meeting was adjourned at 7:50 p.m.
