HomeMy WebLinkAbout20001077 RESOLUTION RE: ACTION OF THE BOARD CONCERNING VIOLATION OF THE WELD COUNTY ZONING ORDINANCE - STEVE COLLINS WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and WHEREAS, Steve Collins, VI #9900305, is allegedly in violation of the Weld County Zoning Ordinance, and WHEREAS, efforts by the Planning staff to resolve said matter are continuing, and WHEREAS, on the 9th day of May, 2000, a public hearing was held before the Board of County Commissioners for the purpose of hearing testimony relating to said violation, and WHEREAS, Steve Collins, property owner, was not present at said hearing, and WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners deems it advisable to continue said matter to June 20, 2000, at 10:00 a.m. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, that VI #9900305 against Steve Collins be, and hereby is, continued to June 20, 2000, at 10:00 a.m. The above and foregoing Resolution was, on motion duly made and seconded, adopted by the following vote on the 9th day of May, A.D., 2000. November ,l7, 1999 Letter returned with "Not Deliverable As Addressed" November 18, 1999 Five day compliance encouragement letter re-issued. December :3, 1999 Thirty-day Zoning Violation Notice was sent giving an extension for thirty days to Mr. Collins . March 31, 2000 Bethany Salzman, cuirent Zoning Compliance Offict r, completed a site inspection. The property does have a Noncommercial Junkyard consisting of one or more unscreened derelict vehicles, piles of wood, and other miscellaneous debris. 0,7(n)—Iori April 28, 2000 Letter sent (certified) to the property owner, Mr. Collins, indicating that the violation hearing was scheduled before the Board of County Commissioners on May 9, 2000 at 10 : 00 a.m. . Thefe is a violation of Section of section(s) 31.3 and 31.3 . 9 of the Weld County Zoning Ordinance. To bring the property into compliance the property owner must remove or screen all derelict vehicles, piles of wood, and other miscellaneous debris from adjacent properties or public rights-of-ways. The Department of Planning also recommends that the County Attorney authorize legal action against any other persons occupying the properties, any persons claiming an interest in the properties, and any persons acting in active concert with the identified parties .
