The Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, met in regular session as the Board of
Social Services in full conformity with the laws of the State of Colorado at the regular place of meeting in
the Weld County Centennial Center, Greeley, Colorado, June 5, 2000, at the hour of 9:00 a.m.
ROLL CALL: The meeting was called to order by the Chair and on roll call the following members were
present, constituting a quorum of the members thereof:
Commissioner Barbara J. Kirkmeyer, Chair
Commissioner M. J. Geile, Pro-Tem
Commissioner George E. Baxter
Commissioner Dale K. Hall
Commissioner Glenn Vaad
Also present:
County Attorney, Bruce T. Barker
Acting Clerk to the Board, Esther E. Gesick
Director of Finance and Administration, Don Warden
MINUTES: Commissioner Geile moved to approve the minutes of the Board of Social Services meeting
of May 31, 2000, as printed. Commissioner Vaad seconded the motion, and it carried unanimously.
WARRANTS: Don Warden, Director of Finance and Administration, presented the warrants for approval
by the Board in the amount of$9,525.06. Commissioner Hall moved to approve the warrants as presented
by Mr. Warden. Commissioner Geile seconded the motion, which carried unanimously.
NEW BUSINESS:
CONSIDER CHILD PROTECTION AGREEMENT FOR SERVICES AND AUTHORIZE CHAIR TO SIGN -
NORTH RANGE BEHAVIORAL HEALTH: Judy Griego, Director of Social Services, stated this is an on-
going agreement with North Range Behavioral Health with a term beginning June 1,2000,and ending May
31, 2001. Ms. Griego stated the Department of Social Services will reimburse North Range Behavioral
Health $37,544.00 for psychological evaluation of children, families, and adolescents, and caseworker
consultation services. She further stated North Range Behavioral Health agrees to allow Ackerman and
Associates and Lutheran Family services to provide foster parent consultation services to County
certificated foster care homes for an amount not to exceed $60,000.00. Commissioner Vaad moved to
approve said agreement and authorize the Chair to sign. Seconded by Commissioner Baxter, the motion
carried unanimously.
Let the minutes reflect that the above and foregoing actions were attested to and respectfully submitted
by the Acting Clerk to the Board.
