The Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, met in regular session as the Board of
Social Services in full conformity with the laws of the State of Colorado at the regular place of meeting in
the Weld County Centennial Center, Greeley, Colorado, April 17, 2000, at the hour of 9:00 a.m.
ROLL CALL: The meeting was called to order by the Chair and on roll call the following members were
present, constituting a quorum of the members thereof:
Commissioner Barbara J. Kirkmeyer, Chair
Commissioner M. J. Geile, Pro-Tem
Commissioner George E. Baxter
Commissioner Dale K. Hall
Commissioner Glenn Vaad
Also present:
County Attorney, Bruce T. Barker
Acting Clerk to the Board, Esther E. Gesick
Comptroller, Claud Hanes
MINUTES: Commissioner Hall moved to approve the minutes of the Board of Social Services meeting of
April 12, 2000, as printed. Commissioner Vaad seconded the motion, and it carried unanimously.
WARRANTS: Claud Hanes, Comptroller, presented the warrants for approval by the Board in the amount
of $22,615.40. Commissioner Baxter moved to approve the warrants as presented by Mr. Hanes.
Commissioner Hall seconded the motion, which carried unanimously.
NEW BUSINESS:
CONSIDER REVISION TO SECTION 6.000, COLORADO WORKS IN WELD COUNTY AND CHILD
CARE POLICIES AND PROCEDURES: Judy Griego, Director of Social Services, explained the revision
will add a general description of the intent and process for client assessment for applicants and recipients
under the Colorado Works Program. Ms. Griego stated the revision also outlines the screening process
and the designated screening form to be used by staff. Commissioner Vaad moved to approve said
revision. Seconded by Commissioner Baxter, the motion carried unanimously.
Let the minutes reflect that the above and foregoing actions were attested to and respectfully submitted
by the Acting Clerk to the Board.
