RE: APPROVE HOURS OF OPERATION FOR COUNTY FACILITIES
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to
Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of
administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS, Section 30-10-109, C.R.S., 1973, provides that all County offices shall be
opened at least eight hours per working day as established by the Board of County
Commissioners, and
WHEREAS, a recent management study of the Weld County Clerk and Recorder's
Office recommended the Motor Vehicle Department have office hours of 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.,
Monday through Friday.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of
Weld County, Colorado, that with the exception of the Motor Vehicle Department that will have
hours of 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, excluding holidays, all Weld County
public access buildings shall be open from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday,
excluding holidays, but in order to avoid overtime compensation a department head or elected
official, at their discretion, may restrict public access to no less than 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.,
Monday through Friday, as long as such hours are posted for public information.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Board of County Commissioners hereby amends
the Administrative Manual to reflect the above policy.
The above and foregoing Resolution was, on motion duly made and seconded, adopted
by the following vote on the 1st day of March, A.D., 2000.
