Environmental Health Services has reviewed this proposal for an excavation business. The following
conditions are recommended to be part of any approval:
1) All liquid and solid wastes (as defined in the Solid Wastes Disposal Sites and Facilities Act,
30-20-101, C.R.S., as amended) shall be stored and removed for final disposal in a manner
that protects against surface and groundwater contamination.
2) No permanent disposal of wastes shall be permitted at this site.
3) Waste materials shall be handled, stored, and disposed in a manner that controls fugitive dust,
blowing debris, and other potential nuisance conditions.
4) The maximum permissible noise level shall not exceed the residential limit of 55 db(A) as
measured according to 25-12-102, Colorado Revised Statutes.
5) Adequate toilet facilities shall be provided for the employees.
6) The Environmental Health Services Division was unable to locate a septic permit for the
septic system serving the existing home. The septic system shall be reviewed by a Colorado
Registered Professional Engineer. The review shall consist of observation of the system and
a technical review describing the systems ability to handle the proposed hydraulic load. Elie
review shall be submitted to the Environmental Health Services Division of the Weld County
Department of Public Health and Environment. In the event the system is found to be
inadequately sized or constructed the system shall be brought into compliance with current
Regulations.
7) All pesticides, fertilizer, and other potentially hazardous chemicals must be stored and
handled in a safe manner. Reference 25-8-205.5 Colorado Water Quality Control Act and
Rules and Regulations thereof.
8) The facility shall utilize the existing public water supply. (Little Thompson Water District).
9) Prior to recording the plat, the applicant shall submit a waste handling plan to the
Environmental Health Services Division of the Weld County Department of Public I Iealth
and Environment. 'The plan shall include at a minimum, the following:
0 I) A list of wastes which are expected to be generated on site(this should include
EXHIBIT expected volumes and types of waste generated).
2) A list of the type and volume of chemicals expected to be stored on site
- 3) The waste handler and facility where the waste will be disposed (including the facility
name, address, and phone number).

COLORADO
Weld County Public Works has reviewed this proposal. This project falls primarily under the purview of the Weld
County Zoning Ordinance Use by Special Review Standards. Our comments and requirements are as follows:
COMMENTS:
The Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) has jurisdiction over all accesses to the State Highways.
Please contact Gloria Hice-Idler or Tess Jones at the Greeley office to verify the access permit or for any
additional requirements that may be necessary to obtain or upgrade the permit.
REQUIREMENTS:
Traffic Circulation: The applicant is identifying 24 feet of access and irrigation easement which shall be used to
accommodate excavation equipment including dump trucks and trackhoes. Turning radiuses shall be opened up
to negotiate tight turns. The applicant states that portions of existing buildings and fences have, been removed
or adjusted to accommodate traffic circulation.
Storm Water Drainage: The site was originally designed so that water would drain to existing detention ponds.
These concrete cells appear to be adequate to handle any storm water runoff and are located outside the Use By
Special Review plat map. Please provide documentation on the status of these cells.

The Berthoud Fire Protection District has reviewed the Special Review application for the
Residential/Excavation business located at 0522 E. Hwy. 60. We find no conflict with this
application at this time. However, the business must be inspected by our Department for Uniform
Fire Code violations on regular basis.
