RE: Evaluation of septic system for Wild Life Conservation Center.
Dear Mr. Craig:
I evaluated the system based on the bed being 30'x40' (1200sq. ft.), the septic
tank being 1250 gallons and the percolation rate being 11.14 minutes per inch.
The evaluation is based on 20 volunteers per day plus 60 visitors. These people
will require. 600 gallons per day. The system will provide a service for 645 gallons per
day. Computations are attached.
Sincerely,
/Ay

As it pertains to conditions (a) & (b), as set forth in the special review permit, I am enclosing the
Wildlife Center's Manure and Wastewater Runoff Handling Plan and required Engineer's Septic
Review.
WASTEWATER RUNOFF PLAN
All animal containment quarters are designed for waste management. All cages are designed to
have contained runoff and drainage, and outside pens are surrounded by concrete retaining walls.
Indoor quarters are concrete and have sloped floors with drains for waste collection. They are
cleaned twice daily in the summer, and once daily in the winter. Water runoff from indoor pens is
directed to an outside evaporation area located approximately 200 ft. from the compound.
Outside quarters have a 6-8" layer of special wood bedding spread over the entire area of each
pen. Solid waste (since all of the animals go outside) is collected on a regularly scheduled basis,
and is then composted with other organic materials. The end product is then used for fertilizer in
the outlying 65 acres and landscaping. Wastewater is also absorbed and removed through the
special bedding and degrades naturally through weather and natural processes.
