A sight-distance study was conducted. The intersection has insufficient stopping sight distance for a 55 mph roadway du Io a farm site on the northwest corner and a hill crest on WCR 123. People are presently slow ing f)r the turn and then proceeding when the road is clear. After a vehicle has entered WCR 123 i her is insufficient distance for the WCR 123 driver to alter his speed and allow the entering vehich to accelerate. A review of accidents produced no accidents in the last three years. The warrants for a stop sign per section 2B-5 of the Manual of Uniijhrm Traffic Control Devices,Ir.: 1. Intersection of a less important road with a main road where application of the normal right-of-way rule is unduly hazardous. The normal right-of-way rule seems to he working at this intersection. 2. Street entering a through highway or street. WCR 80 tees into this intersectioc, 44( 1? 123 extends several miles north and south of this intersection. 3. Unsignalized intersection in a signalized area. There are no signals in this aniu 4. Other intersection where a combination of high speed, restricted view, and seri xis accident record indicates a need for control by the STOP sign. There is insu/Jici:a distance at this intersection. I recommend a Stop sign be installed on WCR 80 at WCR 123. 1 Concur 2, Fran lei rrr 7r., Director of Pu -bb`orlfs- m:vWI'PI LVS\dianeAINT SO_I23-wpd WCR 123 14--X1,823' azs SDP ' ,/l21 538's21 F__..D1kA//2 c /2 j?
