RE: APPROVE PURCHASE OF USED COMPUTER EQUIPMENT
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to
Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of
administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS, the Sheriffs Office has need for Mobil Data Terminals for patrol cars, and
WHEREAS, the Weld County Sheriffs Office recommends the purchase of 30 used
laptop computers from the Clackamas County Sheriffs Office in the amount of$100.00 per unit
for a total cost of$3,000.00 plus shipping, and
WHEREAS, after review, the Board deems it advisable to purchase the above
equipment for$3,000.00.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of
Weld County, Colorado, that the purchase of the above described equipment from the
Clackamas County Sheriff's Office in the amount of $3,000.00 be, and hereby is, approved.
The above and foregoing Resolution was, on motion duly made and seconded, adopted
by the following vote on the 13th day of November, A.D., 2000.

Subject: Request to Purchase Used Equipment
The Weld County Sheriff's Office is requesting to purchase used computer
equipment. We have located thirty (30) used laptop computers, to be used as
Mobil Data Terminals for the Sheriff's Office patrol cars. For the purchase
price of $100.00 per unit plus shipping.
We have in the past purchased this equipment as used, and have paid $200.00 per
unit. The used units have served us well, but as with any computer equipment,
being transported in a vehicle for several hundred miles each shift, some are
needing replaced.
Purchasing this additional equipment should provide us with Mobil Data Terminals
for at least the next two years.
