RE: APPROVE INSTALLATION OF TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICES ON WELD COUNTY
ROAD 40.5 AT WELD COUNTY ROAD 5
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to
Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of
administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS, the Weld County Department of Public Works has recommended to the
Board that a "Stop" sign be installed on Weld County Road 40.5 at Weld County Road 5, to
ensure safety to the traveling public, and
WHEREAS, the Board has determined that said traffic control device is necessary for
the protection of the general public.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of
Weld County, Colorado, that the Department of Public Works be, and hereby is, directed to
install a "Stop" sign on Weld County Road 40.5 at Weld County Road 5, for the safety of the
general public, and said sign shall conform to the State Manual of Uniform Traffic Control
Devices.
The above and foregoing Resolution was, on motion duly made and seconded, adopted
by the following vote on the 28th day of June, A.D., 2000.

The Department of Public Works reviewed the sight distance at the intersection of WCR 5 and WI '12
40.5. This tee intersection presently has no traffic control. The farm on the northwest con ca-l d.s
bui]clings and trees within the sight distance triangle for an uncontrolled intersection. I recoru ne r d
a Stop sign be place on WCR 40.5. The remaining intersection signs may remain in place.
