Home My WebLink About810050.tiff RESOLUTION RE: AUTHORIZATION TO PURCHASE PHONE BILLING SYSTEM WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and WHEREAS, during the 1982 budget process, it came to the attention of the Board of County Commissioners that there was a need for a phone billing system in order to fully recover costs from the courts and other funding agencies utilizing the phone system, and WHEREAS , the Director of Communications advised the Board that Mountain Bell had such a system compatible with the Weld County phone system, and WHEREAS, it has been determined that the system provided by Mountain Bell is a sole source, and WHEREAS, Mountain Bell, on December 16 , 1981, presented a communications proposal for Weld County concerning the computer- ized billing system, and WHEREAS, the Director of Finance and Administration and the Director of Communications have reviewed the proposal and recom- mend that it is in the best interests of Weld County to acquire said system. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commis- sioners that the Director of Communications is hereby authorized to sign the letter of intent and that the Director of Purchasing is hereby authorized to issue a purchase order for the system as proposed to the sole provider which is Mountain Bell Telephone Company. / 610030 o C-tC-MCDOZA The above and foregoing Resolution was, on motion duly made and seconded, adopted by the following vote on the 28th day of December, A.D. , 1981. No -figures -on dollar amounts for calls except. through the monthly telephone bill . 3. Difficult- to allocate-=departments-tor-,actual -telephone expenses. 4. Unauthorized telephone-user -abuse is present. RECOMMENDATION My recommendation to Weld County Government is the Comm-Stor - II/SMDR feature of the DIMENSION PBX. This system has been designed to address telephone message accounting needs. The Comm-Stor II/SMDR will provide Weld County Government with the information ❑eeded to effectively manage telephone usage.
