Although we have seen traffic figures, there has not been an in-depth study of traffic flow. For example, much of the traffic on WCR 32 is employees, tractor-trailers and related vehicles of Morning Fresh Farms and Bella Holstein Dairy. The oil and gas companies also contribute to the heavy volume when checking the well heads every quarter section numerous times a day. The only"community"east of Platteville is the long standing attempt to develop Milton Lake, a/k/a Bee Bee Draw, a/k/a Pelican Lake(after 10 plus years, we believe less than half dozen lots have been sold). We have friends which are current residents of Milton Lake, and they acknowledge that they use either WCR 39 north to Greeley or south to WCR 52 to access 1-76 to Denver. Additionally, we don't believe that highway 66 traffic will continue east of highway 85 because there is very little reason to do so now or in the foreseeable future. The propose extension does not provide additional access that is not already provided for by WCR 32 that is located less than 1/2 mile away. It has been argued that there is a public safety issue. We don't believe that there have been an extraordinary number of accidents at highways 85 and 32 however, the light that will be installed at highways 66 and 85 should reduce accidents. A study should be completed regarding the impact of that light. It has already been agreed that a 2nd light at highways 85 and 32 is part of a long term project. We would request that you consider the light in the short term and Columbine Parkway in the long term. We understand that persons are attempting to sell property at highways 66 and 85 for commercial development. They may access that corner at WCR 30 that is less than a quarter mile away. Our family business is fanning and we have plans to continue. Your options 2 and 3 that diagonals the highway, cut the land into numerous 3 corner parcels that make it difficult if not impossible to farm. Additionally, we have made plans to install a sprinkler system. We suggest that the money be used to improve existing highways. For example, there has been a tremendous increase in traffic fatalities on highway 66. Money should be spent to make that highway safer. Bottom line, $2 to$3 million is a lot of money to spend to benefit a few. xc Commissioners Vaad, Geile, Hall, Baxter and Kirkmeyer ,/÷,P°D D 2000-1172 Hello
