The Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, met in regular session as the Board of
Social Services in full conformity with the laws of the State of Colorado at the regular place of meeting in
the Weld County Centennial Center, Greeley, Colorado, July 10, 2000, at the hour of 9:00 a.m.
ROLL CALL: The meeting was called to order by the Chair and on roll call the following members were
present, constituting a quorum of the members thereof:
Commissioner Barbara J. Kirkmeyer, Chair
Commissioner M. J. Geile, Pro-Tem
Commissioner George E. Baxter- EXCUSED
Commissioner Dale K. Hall
Commissioner Glenn Vaad
Also present:
County Attorney, Bruce T. Barker
Acting Clerk to the Board, Esther E. Gesick
Director of Finance and Administration, Don Warden
MINUTES: Commissioner Vaad moved to approve the minutes of the Board of Social Services meeting
of July 5, 2000, as printed. Commissioner Hall seconded the motion, and it carried unanimously.
WARRANTS: Don Warden, Director of Finance and Administration, presented the warrants for approval
by the Board in the amount of $13,846.61. Commissioner Hall moved to approve the warrants as
presented by Mr. Warden. Commissioner Geile seconded the motion, which carried unanimously.
NEW BUSINESS:
CONSIDER CHILD PROTECTION AGREEMENT FOR SERVICES AND AUTHORIZE CHAIR TO SIGN-
ACKERMAN AND ASSOCIATES, P.C.: Judy Griego, Director of Social Services, stated under this
agreement, Ackerman and Associates, P.C., will provide Family Group Decision Making services for up
to 25 families with children who are eligible for the Expedited Permanency Planning Program. Ms. Griego
stated for these services, Ackerman and Associates, P.C., will be reimbursed at a rate of$2,000.00 per
each completed conference, $75.00 per hour not to exceed 15 hours, or$1,125.00, if a conference is not
completed, with the total amount not to exceed $50,750.00. Commissioner Vaad moved to approve said
agreement and authorize the Chair to sign. Commissioner Geile seconded the motion. In response to
Commissioner Geile, Ms. Griego stated the rate for incomplete conferences is the same as last year. The
motion carried unanimously.
Let the minutes reflect that the above and foregoing actions were attested to and respectfully submitted
by the Acting Clerk to the Board.
