RE: REGULATING, WARNING AND GUIDING TRAFFIC DURING THE TEMPORARY
CLOSURE OF VARIOUS WELD COUNTY ROADS
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to
Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of
administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 42-4-410(6)(a), C.R.S.:
"...local authorities, with their respective jurisdiction may, for the
purpose of road construction and maintenance, temporarily close
to through traffic or to all vehicular traffic any highway or portion
thereof for a period not to exceed a specified number of work
days for project completion and shall, in conjunction with any such
road closure establish appropriate detours or provide for an
alternative routing of the traffic affected...", and
WHEREAS, the Board, pursuant to said statute and upon the basis of traffic and
personal investigations, has determined that conditions exist which make it necessary to
temporarily close to through traffic and to regulate, warn and guide vehicular traffic on said
County roads by posting signs thereon.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of County Commissioners of
Weld County, Colorado, deems it necessary to regulate, warn and guide vehicular traffic on
County roads and any intersections thereof, and it hereby authorizes and orders the posting of
such traffic control devices as shall be reasonably necessary to regulate, warn and/or guide
traffic thereon for the safety of the general public and that said traffic control devices shall
conform to the Federal Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County,
Colorado, does declare and establish that Weld County Road 21 between State Highway 52
and Weld County Road 8 be temporarily closed, with said closure being effective March 6,
2000, for approximately five working days to replace a culvert, and further, that standard official
traffic control devices shall be erected at said closure giving notice of the restrictions.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County,
Colorado, does declare and establish that Weld County Road 44 between Weld County Roads
41 and 43 be temporarily closed, with said closure being effective March 6, 2000, for
approximately five working days to replace a culvert, and further, that standard official traffic
control devices shall be erected at said closure giving notice of the restrictions.

Colorado, does declare and establish that 83rd Avenue between State Highway 34 and Weld
County Road 54, and that 28th Street between 83rd Avenue and State Highway 34 be
temporarily closed, with said closure being effective March 6, 2000, for approximately 20
working days, and further, that standard official traffic control devices shall be erected at said
closure giving notice of the restrictions.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County,
Colorado, does declare and establish that Weld County Road 18 between State Highway 85
and Weld County Road 25 be temporarily closed, with said closure being effective March 6,
2000, for approximately five working days to replace a culvert, and further, that standard official
traffic control devices shall be erected at said closure giving notice of the restrictions.
The above and foregoing Resolution was, on motion duly made and seconded, adopted
by the following vote on the 13th day of March, A.D., 2000, nunc pro tunc March 6, 2000.

The following roads were closed so far in March.
WCR 21 between St. Hwy 52 and WCR 8 was closed on 3/6/00 to replace a culvert. It will
be closed for five days.
WCR 44 between WCR 41 and WCR 43 was closed on 3/6/00 to replace a culvert. It will
also be closed five days.
83rd Ave. between St. Hwy 34 and WCR 54 and continuing on 28th Street at 83rd Ave and
St. Hwy 34 was closed on 3/6/00. It will be closed 20 days.
The appropriate documentation is enclosed.
