RESOLUTION
RE: GRANT REQUEST FROM CAMAS COLORADO, INC., TO PRE-ADVERTISE
AMENDED USE BY SPECIAL REVIEW PERMIT#877
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to
Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of
administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS, the Board has received a request from Camas Colorado, Inc., 3605 South
Teller Street, Lakewood, Colorado 80235, for pre-advertisement of an application for an
Amended Use by Special Review Permit for a Gravel Mining Operation, and
WHEREAS, said property is described as parts of Sections 7, 8, 17, and 18, all in
Township 2 North, Range 68 West of the 6th P.M., Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS, after study and review the Board deems it advisable to grant said request,
with the hearing date to be set as January 31, 2001, at 10:00 a.m.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of
Weld County, Colorado, that the request from Camas Colorado, Inc., for pre-advertisement of
an application for an Amended Use by Special Review Permit for a Gravel Mining Operation be,
and hereby is, granted.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the Board that the hearing date to consider said
request be, and hereby is, set as January 31, 2001, at 10:00 a.m.
The above and foregoing Resolution was, on motion duly made and seconded, adopted
by the following vote on the 27th day of December, A.D., 2000.

Re: 4th Am USR 897—Longmont Distel Operations
Ladies and Gentlemen:
The above-referenced matter is set for hearing before the Weld County Planning Commission on January
16, 2001. By this letter we respectfully request pre-advertisement for the subsequent public hearing before
the Board to accommodate a setting of such hearing for January 31, 2001. By working closely with the
staff at the County Department of Planning Services, we expect to meet any recommended conditions of
approval for the USR permit by the requested hearing date, and availability on the docket for this date has
been confirmed with the Clerk to the Board.
The subject use by special review in this matter is a sand and gravel mining operation. The amendment
application was submitted in order to allow mining in properties adjacent to existing operations. Due to
high market demand, we anticipate that sand and gravel reserves from the existing operations will be
depleted within the next month. It is therefore critical to our operations and our customers to obtain
approval of the amendment application at the earliest possible date.
We would further note that, concurrent with our amendment application for the County Use by Special
Review, an application was submitted to the Division of Minerals and Geology(DMG)to amend the
existing mining and reclamation permit for this operation. We anticipate approval from DMG this week,
therefore the only matter remaining to enable us to enter the amendment properties and begin mining will
be the approval of the use by special review permit.
Enclosed is a check in the amount of$35.00 for the fees associated with processing this pre-advertisement
request. Your consideration in this matter in this matter is greatly appreciated.
