Comments on behalf of the Estate of Marie E. Etter.
Estate Property: West of and adjacent to Parcel 1 as depicted upon Applicants
Extraction Plan Map, Lot 2 of the SW'/ of Section 30, Township 7 North, West of
the 6th P.M..
Concerns:
1. The access to the main residence of the Estate from WCR 64 1/2 extends
southward and adjacent to the West property line of Parcel 1, and although the map
indicates a 25' setback from the property line to the mine-face, there is concern about
adequate adjacent support. The application indicates mineral depths of 13'-35' with
overburden of 3-5 feet, which could be quite a hole.
2. In the same area there is depicted a "dewatering trench/edge of disturbed area",
and the concern is also support but in addition the proximity to the Estate domestic well
for the residences.
3. Apparently the Planner has indicated the establishment of berms along the west
mine-face lines of Parcel 1, and this may take care of the support concerns of the Estate,
or.maybe an additional 10 feet set back is needed.
4. The Estate farm has underground drain tiles as well as surface irrigation drainage
which discharges southeasterly into Parcel 1. This should be at least brought to the
attention of the Applicant for handling the water.
