WELD COUNTY, COLORADO

The Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, met in regular session as the Board of
Social Services in full conformity with the laws of the State of Colorado at the regular place of meeting in
the Weld County Centennial Center, Greeley, Colorado, April 5, 2000, at the hour of 9:00 a.m.
ROLL CALL: The meeting was called to order by the Chair and on roll call the following members were
present, constituting a quorum of the members thereof:
Commissioner Barbara J. Kirkmeyer, Chair
Commissioner M. J. Geile, Pro-Tem
Commissioner George E. Baxter
Commissioner Dale K. Hall
Commissioner Glenn Vaad
Also present:
County Attorney, Bruce T. Barker
Acting Clerk to the Board, Esther E. Gesick
Director of Finance and Administration, Don Warden
MINUTES: Commissioner Hall moved to approve the minutes of the Board of Social Services meeting of
April 3, 2000, as printed. Commissioner Vaad seconded the motion, and it carried unanimously.
WARRANTS: Don Warden, Director of Finance and Administration, presented the warrants for approval
by the Board in the amount of $1.005.00. Commissioner Geile moved to approve the warrants as
presented by Mr. Warden. Commissioner Baxter seconded the motion, which carried unanimously.
NEW BUSINESS:
CONSIDER FISCAL YEAR 2000-2001 COLORADO WORKS ALLOCATION AND MAINTENANCE OF
EFFORT BID AND AUTHORIZE CHAIR TO SIGN: Judy Griego, Director of Social Services, stated the
Weld County Department of Social Services bid is in the amount of $4,000,000. She explained this
amount will be used to maintain the Colorado Works Program, and for transfers to Child Welfare
Programs. Ms. Griego stated the amount is slightly higher because the Department is anticipating
increased expenditures for Child Care Transfers and Child Welfare Transfers. Commissioner Vaad moved
to approve said bid and authorize the Chair to sign. Seconded by Commissioner Baxter,the motion carried
unanimously.
Let the minutes reflect that the above and foregoing actions were attested to and respectfully submitted
by the Acting Clerk to the Board.
