WELD COUNTY, COLORADO

The Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, met in regular session as the Board of
Social Services in full conformity with the laws of the State of Colorado at the regular place of meeting in
the Weld County Centennial Center, Greeley, Colorado, April 4, 2001, at the hour of 9:00 a.m.
ROLL CALL: The meeting was called to order by the Chair and on roll call the following members were
present, constituting a quorum of the members thereof:
Commissioner M. J. Geile, Chair
Commissioner Glenn Vaad, Pro-Tem
Commissioner William H. Jerke
Commissioner David E. Long
Commissioner Robert D. Masden
Also present:
County Attorney, Bruce T. Barker
Acting Clerk to the Board, Carol A. Harding
Director of Finance and Administration, Don Warden
MINUTES: Commissioner Vaad moved to approve the minutes of the Board of Social Services meeting
of April 2, 2001, as printed. Commissioner Long seconded the motion, and it carried unanimously.
WARRANTS: Don Warden, Director of Finance and Administration, presented the warrants for approval
by the Board in the amount of $87,050.99. Commissioner Vaad moved to approve the warrants as
presented by Mr. Warden. Commissioner Long seconded the motion, which carried unanimously.
OLD BUSINESS:
CONSIDER REVISIONS TO OPERATIONS MANUAL, SECTION 6.000,COLORADO WORKS IN WELD
COUNTY AND CHILD CARE POLICIES AND PROCEDURES: Judy Griego, Director of Social Services,
stated this is a revision the Department is requesting the addition of a County Diversion Program
component to pay child care assistance for working families, which would allow direct charges for child
care expenditures to he Colorado Works Program allocation. Commissioner Vaad moved to approve said
revisions. Commissioner Long seconded the motion, which carried unanimously.

NEW BUSINESS:
CONSIDER REVISIONS TO OPERATIONS MANUAL, SECTION 2.000, SOCIAL SERVICES DIVISION
POLICIES AND PROCEDURES: Ms.Griego stated the revisions involve adding the Department of Human
Services as a provider of supervised visitation services for children in the custody of the Department and
their biological parents, allowing for reimbursement transfer authority from the Department to Human
Services,and defining and appointing an Administrative Liaison for the Citizen Review Panel. Responding
to Commissioner Jerke, Ms. Griego stated the supervised visits would be primarily in the southwestern
portion of the County where there is no other option for service, and stated two outside contractors take
care of the northern part of County. Commissioner Vaad moved to approve said revisions. Commissioner
Long seconded the motion, which carried unanimously.
Let the minutes reflect that the above and foregoing actions were attested to and respectfully submitted
by the Acting Clerk to the Board.
There being no further business, this meeting was adjourned at 9:10 a.m.
