RE: APPROVE PETITION FOR ABATEMENT OR REFUND OF TAXES - PLATTE VALLEY
AIRPARK LTD
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to
Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of
administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, State of Colorado, at
a duly and lawfully called regular meeting held on the 4th day of April, 2001, at which meeting
there were present the following members: Chair M. J. Geile and Commissioners Glenn Vaad,
William H. Jerke, David E. Long, and Robert D. Masden, and
WHEREAS, notice of such meeting and an opportunity to be present has been given to
the taxpayer and the Assessor of said County, and said Assessor, Stan Sessions, being
represented by Mike Sampson, and taxpayer Platte Valley Airpark, LTD, not being present, and
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners have carefully considered the attached
application, and are fully advised in relation thereto.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of
Weld County, Colorado, that the Board concurs with the recommendation of the assessor and
the petition be and hereby is, approved, and an abatement refund be allowed as follows:

respectfully requests that the taxes assessed against the above property for the years A.D.
43 2000 19x, are erroneous, illegal, or due to error in valuation for the following reasons:
Describe specifically the circumstances surrounding the incorrect value or tax, including owner's
estimate of value. (Attach additional sheets if necessary)
The subject parcel of land (outlot A of area B) is the taxi-way
for the Platte Valley Airpark, which is located just east of
Fort Lupton on county road 39. The taxi-way is a common area of
land which is used by all the hanger owners in the Platte Valley
Airpark. The rights to use this taxi-way are included in the
purchase of the hanger lots of the Platte Valley Airpark PUD. The
Weld County Assessor's Office values these hanger lots in the
Airpark by market sales which includes the value of the taxi-way
and the rights that go with the taxi-way (outlot A) . Therefore
to value the taxi-way would be considered a double assessement.
This abatement request is to correct a change made in the value of
outlot A of area B (from a 1999 value of $100.00 to a year 2000
value of $652,044) back to a nominal value of $100.00 for the year
2000.

Dear Property Owner:
This is to advise you that the Weld County Board of Commissioners will hear your petition for
abatement or refund of taxes on the property described as: App outlot A area B Airpark PUD. The
meeting is scheduled for April 4, 2001, at 9:00 a.m., in the First Floor Meeting Room,Weld County
Centennial Center, 915 10th Street, Greeley, Colorado.
The Assessor is recommending that the Board approve your petition. You are not required to be
present at this hearing, however, this is your opportunity to have your position heard, especially if
your position is opposed to the Assessor's recommendation. If you intend to submit any
documentation in support of your position for this hearing, all such documentation must be
