Below outlines my concerns. ¶ Firestone needs a fully functional post office facility for all of the Firestone residents Several local towns have&mixed mail&delivery(i.e. street, post office box and rural delivery out of one zip code)Why can/Et Firestone? Mail delivery out of the Longmont, Colorado Post Office 80504 ZIP has not been efficient 80504 ZIP delivery out of the Longmont Post Office (approximately fifteen miles one way) can not possibly be cost effective for a postal services already economically challenged ¶ In a time with rising energy prices and a call from our President to look for ways to conserve, it is a waste of my time and gas to retrieve postal items from Longmont, Colorado (80504)over fifteen miles from my residence when I live just two miles from the Firestone Post Office Because of the 80504 ZIP, my tax dollars are not going to my community; a merchant cannot distinguish between Firestone residents in 80504 or Longmont residents sharing the same ZIP code of 80504 I will not be forced to pay higher sales tax for items delivered to my home (Longmont sales/use tax is 7.05 versus Firestones tax of 5.0% As a Firestone resident forced to use the Longmont 80504 ZIP, I am faced daily with confusion regarding deliveries, purchases, vehicle and voter registration I cannot support the Postal ServicesFE plan to reduce the current ZIP 80520-delivery area to one-quarter mile radius surrounding the existing facility with everything else moved to the 80504 ZIP. This is not acceptable! I do not want the 80504 Longmont mailing address representing My Town. As Elected Official, I want you to intercede on my behalf to correct these issues with the United States Postal Services. I expect you to insist on adequate postal service for all of the Firestone, Colorado residents and support our community. Sincerely, Gary G. Cope 6667 Scenic Court Longmont, CO 80504 Hello
