J. Geile, Chair Commissioner Glenn Vaad, Pro-Tern Commissioner William H. Jerke Commissioner David E. Long Commissioner Robert D. Masden Also present: Acting Clerk to the Board, Esther E. Gesick County Attorney, Bruce Barker Director of Finance and Administration, Donald D. Warden The following business was transacted: I hereby certify that pursuant to a notice dated October 24, 2001, and duly published November 7, 2001, in the Tri-Town Farmer and Miner, a public hearing was conducted to consider the Weld County 2002 Final Budget. Donald Warden, Director of Finance and Administration, made this a matter of record. He presented the changes which were made to the recommended budget during the October work sessions, and stated the county Council approved exceeding the mill levy by five percent,allowing total appropriations of$124,418,398. The mill levy will be lowered to 20.559 mills, based on a total assessed value of $2,218,914,665. (Switched to Tape #2001-53.) No public testimony was offered concerning this matter. Commissioner Vaad moved to approve the draft resolution summarizing expenditures and revenues and adopting the 2002 Budget in the amount of$124,418,398. The motion, which was seconded by Commissioner Long, carried unanimously. Mr. Warden read Emergency Ordinance No. 224 into the record. No public testimony was offered concerning this matter. Commissioner Vaad moved to approve Ordinance No. 224 on an emergency basis. Seconded by Commissioner Masden, the motion carried unanimously. Mr. Warden read Emergency Ordinance No. 225 into the record. No public testimony was offered concerning this matter. Commissioner Jerke moved to approve Ordinance No. 225 setting the mill levy, on an emergency basis. The purpose of the hearing will be to receive written and oral comment from the public concerning the proposed annual budget for fiscal year 2002 as contained in that proposed budget, summarized below.
