We, the following inmates currently incarcerated, are concerned about the loss of
services offered in the jail . As much of our control has been taken away by
being incarcerated there is an increased need to maintain communication with our
friends and family.
Visitation in the jail has been curtailed greatly because of a lack of security
personnel .
A number of responsible and effective officers have left recently due no doubt to
added stress and duties placed on them.
It is our opinion that something has to be done about this matter. If not you
leave much room for burned-out security officer, inmates with building hostilities
and unfortunately leave no one with enough energy to balance this institution. We urge
you to act promptly on this matter. Also recognize that this jail cannot run with a
mere nine officers or less per shift and expect them to answer to the needs of over
100 inmates. Thus we feel it' s not only unfair and unconstitutional but a violation
of human rights. Therefore, we stress upon you to look into this matter as soon as
possible.
