HomeMy WebLinkAbout20013376.tiff Dear Members of the Board of County Commissioners:
Do us all a favor. Unilaterally declare all the named individuals in the
NCMC fiasco compromised and ask for their resignation. Here's why.
The investigation is a waste of money. I don't care if certain people
who had "contracts with Banner before they accepted the sensitive task of
negotiating a new 21 year lease, or who had business opportunities, or
investments, or did work one way or another etc., etc., are ever determined
to have had or been in a legalistic conflict of interest. I don't care because
the damage is done, and cannot be undone except in one way. You, not an
attorney from Denver, not a report, not the Tribune must restore the public's
faith in the volunteer boards that represent the public.
Please ask for the resignation of anyone and everyone who is in any
way remotely tainted by what has gone on. These people have created the
perception of a conflict of interest.
I think we have lost track of the real issue in this mess. Our
community hospital is in turmoil. The confidence of the community in the
leadership representing the community on both the NCMC Board of
Directors and the NCMC Board of Trustees is badly shaken.
The only way to restore whatever lack of trust pervades this
community regarding the hospital and Banner is to get the offending people
offthe boards and replace them as quickly as possible. Certain individuals
perceptively violated their positions of trust and confidence and no report is
ever going to dispel the taint associated with their actions. Nor is their any
punishment sufficient to leave the community with a sense that justice, if it
could be defined in this matter, will have been served.
Respectfully,
_.. p it,
