BOARD OF SOCIAL SERVICES
WELD COUNTY, COLORADO

The Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, met in regular session as the Board of
Social Services in full conformity with the laws of the State of Colorado at the regular place of meeting in
the Weld County Centennial Center, Greeley, Colorado, August 8, 2001, at the hour of 9:00 a.m.
ROLL CALL: The meeting was called to order by the Chair and on roll call the following members were
present, constituting a quorum of the members thereof:
Commissioner M. J. Geile, Chair
Commissioner Glenn Vaad, Pro-Tem - EXCUSED
Commissioner William H. Jerke
Commissioner David E. Long
Commissioner Robert D. Masden
Also present:
County Attorney, Bruce T. Barker
Acting Clerk to the Board, Esther E. Gesick
Director of Finance and Administration, Don Warden
MINUTES: Commissioner Long moved to approve the minutes of the Board of Social Services meeting
of August 6, 2001, as printed. Commissioner Masden seconded the motion, and it carried unanimously.
WARRANTS: Claud Hanes, Comptroller, stated there are no warrants to present for Social Services.
NEW BUSINESS:
CONSIDER MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING WITH COLORADO DEPARTMENT OF HUMAN
SERVICES AND AUTHORIZE CHAIR TO SIGN: Judy Griego, Director of Social Services, stated under
this Memorandum of Understanding(MOU), Colorado Department of Human Services,in conjunction with
the Colorado Energy Assistance Foundation will seek funding from the Boettcher Foundation. She
explained the funding will be used to obtain computer equipment which is to be used by the LEAP
Program. Ms.Griego stated the MOU establishes conditions for the receipt and use of the equipment,and
staff has been working with the Computer Services Division to ensure the equipment will be adequate.
Commissioner Long moved to approve said Memorandum of Understanding and authorize the Chair to
sign. Seconded by Commissioner Masden, the motion carried unanimously.
CONSIDER REVISIONS TO OPERATIONS MANUAL, SECTION 7.000, PERSONNEL POLICIES AND
PROCEDURES: Ms. Griego stated the revisions establish the use of employee identification badges for
the Department of Social Services and the Greeley-Weld County Housing Authority. She explained the
cost to replace a lost badge will be$10.00,and she recommends approval of the revisions. Commissioner
Long moved to approve said revisions. Commissioner Masden seconded the motion, which carried
unanimously.

Let the minutes reflect that the above and foregoing actions were attested to and respectfully submitted
by the Acting Clerk to the Board.
There being no further business, this meeting was adjourned at 9:10 a.m.
