So, given the potential that employees that are not residents of the home will be using the restroom in the home, I would have to say that that would not be considered ordinary household uses. If, however, the employees of the business are also residents of that home, then I sure wouldn't want to split that hair and I would say that the use of the restroom is okay. Are we getting closer? Kevin Original Message From: SHERI LOCKMAN [mailto:SLOCKMAN@co.weld.co.us] Sent: Monday, February 05, 2001 3:03 PM To: kevin.rein@state.co.us Subject: Re: Steve Webb Knife Sharpening Mr. Webb is proposing to bring water in for use in the shop and on the grinding wheels. He is however, still intending to use the bathroom in the home since the shop does not have one. Does this meet the definition of domestic use?Thank you for your help. >>> <kevin.rein@state.co.us> 02/05/01 02:44PM >>> Hie Sheri, Here's a follow-up based on a conversation with Steve Webb. Our office has no objection to Mr. Webb bringing water in to use as part of his business. In order to stay in compliance with his well permit, he must limit the use of the well water to domestic uses only. Please let me know if you need more information on this. Kevin r SHERI LOCKMAN c,RE: Thanks for the Lregarding repermitting the well for the knif-arpening shop. The gentleman ind Sheri, It looks like my previous response was premature. The applicant had called our information desk, inquiring about a new permit. He told us that the work would be done in a separate building and that the business would not change his use of water. It looks as though we misunderstood or he did not present his situation accurately. At any rate, if employees of a business are using the water from the well, then we can no longer consider that the well is being used for"ordinary household purposes." If his well permit was issued on that premise, which it sounds like it was, then he will have to change it. Please have him call us back. Have him call Bill McIntyre if he is outside the Denver Basin, or Bill Fronczak if he is in a designated Basin, or me if he is in the Denver Basin. Thanks for your patience. The gentleman ind Thanks for the call regarding repermitting the well for the knife sharpening shop. The gentleman indicated to you that the well would not be used for the business. However, we will not approve a special use permit without an adequate water supply. They are proposing to use the house for the employee bathrooms. Are they still ok without permitting it for the business?
