"MOUSETRAP" INTERCHANGE GREELEY. COW. PUBLIC MEETING SCHEDULED The junction of Interstates 25 and 70 in Denver, long referred to as "The Mousetrap," is Colorado's busiest. Regular users of the interchange will be happy to learn that the Colorado Department of Highways intends to redesign The Mousetrap during the next four or five years. A public meeting is scheduled to begin at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 26, at the Globeville Senior Center at 44th Avenue and Lincoln St. in Denver. Citizens are invited to discuss traffic problems and express concerns they may have about the eventual design and reconstruction of The Mousetrap. Department staff persons and members of a consulting firm will present information about preliminary design alternatives, noise impacts and possible redesign of the interchange's pedestrian underpass. Prior to the public phase of coordination, these people met with local businessmen, state legislators, city councilpersons, and employees of the Denver Planning office and Denver Public Works. At least one more public meeting will be held in addition to the one scheduled September 26. Modification of the 44th Avenue overpass over the Valley Highway (I-25) is already funded in the Department's new construction budget for fiscal year 1984- 85. The budget provides $850,000 for preliminary engineering (design) , right-of- way, utility work and construction. The overpass is located just south of The Mousetrap.
