HomeMy WebLinkAbout20012944 WELD COUNTY E-911 EMERGENCY TELEPHONE SERVICE AUTHORITY BOARD SEPTEMBER 18, 2001 The Weld County E-911 Emergency Telephone Service Authority Board met in regular session Tuesday, September 18, 2001, at noon at the Weld County Centennial Center. ROLL CALL: The meeting was called to order by Chairman Mike Savage. Present were Board Members Tom Bizzell, Rod Deroo, Kim Fliethman, Don Warden for Mike Geile, John Michaels, and Mike Savage; and staff members Jack Statler, Jon Baker, and Linda Weingardt. MINUTES: Kim Fliethman moved, seconded by John Michaels, that the minutes of the August 21, 2001, meeting be approved as presented. Minutes were unanimously approved. OLD BUSINESS: 1. Staff Report:Jon Baker gave stats for the previous month. He also advised that the Racal Recorder is in the final stages of being ordered and should be purchased within the ext three weeks. The contract will be faxed to him next week for signature. The Board had previously approved $37,000 for the purchase of the recorder, however the price is $37,773. John Michaels moved, seconded by Tom Bizzell, to amend the previous motion to authorize$38,000 for the purchase of the recorder. Motion was unanimously approved. Batteries were replaced this morning in the UPS. All computers were shut down for two hours, and everything is currently back up and working. Jack advised that he had previously talked to Don Warden regarding the addition of two new Dispatcher positions in 2002, which was agreed upon. The City recently held their 2002 Budget Revision session and agreed also to add two new Dispatcher Positions, to be paid jointly between the City and County. With the already approved two new positions for 2002, and the addition of these two, the Dispatch Center will be authorized 4 new positions for 2002. The County has approved funding a PC position. The current PC Specialist and the System Administrator have both turned in resignations and we are in the hiring process for these two positions. The last training class for v.11 ProQA will be tomorrow and all Dispatchers will be certified. The program was only installed on one terminal for the training and will now be installed on all terminals by October 1. Jack and Kim will meet with Don Warden regarding next year's budget. NEW BUSINESS: 1. John Michaels moved, seconded by Rod Deroo, to approve payment of$27,056.89 to Qwest for monthly service. Motion was unanimously approved. 2. Jon Baker requested authorization for payment to send two Dispatchers for EMD Certification Training in Fort Collins at a cost of$275 per person. John Michaels moved, seconded by Tom Bizzell, to approve payment. Motion was unanimously approved. Meeting was adjourned. Next meeting will be Tuesday, October 16, 2001, at noon.
