Dear County Clerk:
I would like to take this opportunity to inform you about a new service option availa e to
AT&T@Home customers that wish to replace their leased modem with a purchase modem_
As you may know, @Home customers may either lease a cable modem from AT& Broadband
or purchase it from a consumer electronics retailer. Any purchased modem must b I activated
on our system before it can become operational
Previously, if a customer replaced a leased modem with a purchased modem, the cply option
available for activating the purchased modem was to send a technician to the cust4 er's home,
which could result in a service charge of up to$49.99".
In our continued efforts to streamline operations and minimize costs to customers, yye are now
capable of activating a purchased modem electronically over the phone. This new Electronic
modem activation and processing fee is $9.95"and will be available to existing @ erne
customers as of August 1, 2001.
This new service option is only available to current customers that exchange a lease modem
for a purchased modem. It will not apply to new customers that opt to purchase a Modem
through a retailer, because this service Is currently included in the @Home installa on fee.
If you have any questions about this new service option, pleases contact me at 30 .603-5012.
Sincerely,
AT&T Broadband of Colorado, LLC I/k/a AT&T Broadband
