Dear Council Members:
Our auditors, Dollarhide and Schwartz, Certified Public Accountants, P.O. Box
310, 1122 Ninth Street, Suite 102, Greeley, Colorado, 80632, are currently
conducting their annual examination of our financial statements. In
connection with their examination would you please confirm directly to them
the following information with respect to the authorized 1983 salaries of the
elected officials.

The salaries listed in this memorandum in the amount of $28,000 were correct for
Herb Hansen (County Assessor) , Mary Ann Feuerstein (County Clerk and Recorder) ,
and Mike Loustalet (County Treasurer). The $30,000 salary of Sheriff Harold
Andrews is also correct.
The salaries listed for County Commissioners Norman Carlson, Chuck Carlson,
John Martin, Jackie Johnson, and Gene Brantner are erroneous and should have
been $25,100. (See enclosed Resolution number 22 of the Weld County Council ,
executed on February 21 , 1980. ) Copies were furnished to the Clerk to the Board
of the County Commissioners and the Department of Personnel . Any payment of
salary over the $25,100 would have been in error and contradictory to the
salaries set by the County Council . i

RESOLUTION
RE: SALARIES OF WELD COUNTY COMMISSIONERS
WHEREAS, Section 13-8 (1) of the Weld County Home
Rule Charter states that the Weld County Council shall set
the salaries of all elected officials, and furthermore, in
the case of County Commissioners, the Charter provides for
a delay in the effective date of said salary increases so
as to provide for equal compensation for all commissioners
at all times; and
WHEREAS, the Weld County Council has, by a majority
vote, agreed that the salaries of the Weld County Commissioners
should be increased for the years of 1983 and 1984;
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that all Weld County
Commissioners shall be paid $25,100 for the year of 1983
and $25,750 for the year 1984, with said salaries to
take effect on the first working day of the respective years.
The above and foregoing Resolution was, on Motion
duly made and seconded, adopted by the following vote on the
21st day of February, 1980.
