PETITION TO THE COUNTY BOARD OF EQUALIZATION In the space below, please explain why you disagree with the Assessor's valuation. IN ACCORDANCE WITH 39- 8-106, C.R.S., YOU MUST STATE YOUR OPINION OF VALUE IN TERMS OF A SPECIFIC DOLLAR AMOUNT. Attach additional documents as necessary. r ti e 2 7 AUNAIUKEOf. I4 IIONEK DAIS We disagree with the Assessor's valuation for the following reasons: 1. The property is being assessed as being on five (5) lots (12 through 16 plus that vacated by the Town of 15') when in fact the church sits on lots 15 and 16 and the property vacated by the town sits beyond lot 16. The property in question sits on lots 12, 13 and 14. When we spoke with your representative, he agreed that we were being assessed incorrectly and assured us that we would be able to receive a refund for at least two years of overpayment. We left all of our paperwork with him, but have included additional proof enclosed with this Petition. 2. As we explained to your representative, the house was built in 1925. It has an unfinished basement with laundry hook-up and furnace only. It is smaller than the rest of the house. The basement is used for storage. It is a small four-room house with no closet in one of the bedrooms. It has no sidewalk, curb and gutter or finished driveway. All of the windows are single pane. 3. During the past three years, you have increased the valuation of the building by $70, 126; over a two and one half times increase. (This includes the $2753 adjustment given on June 22, 2001.) Please correct the legal description of the property and give a fair valuation of the house, certainly no more than $65,000. Thank you. You have a right to attend this hearing and present evidence in support of your petition. The Weld County Assessor or his designee will be present.
