RE: CONSIDER PARTICIPATION IN POUDRE RIVER BASIN STAKEHOLDER GROUP
AND APPOINTMENT OF CONNIE O'NEILL TO SERVE AS WELD COUNTY'S
REPRESENTATIVE
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to
Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of
administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS, the Cache La Poudre River is a valuable resource in Larimer and Weld
Counties, and
WHEREAS, human activities in the Cache La Poudre River watershed affect the rivers
water quality, cumulative effects of which could cause adverse and costly impacts in the future,
and
WHEREAS, the North Front Range Water Quality Planning Association is proposing the
creation of a Poudre River Stakeholders Group, and
WHEREAS, a group of concerned people representing private citizens and government
agencies endorsed the formation of a watershed forum to promote the protection of the
watershed and the quality of its waters through the coordinated efforts of all interested
stakeholders for economic and health benefits of present and future generations, and
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners deems it advisable to participate in the
Poudre River Basin Stakeholders Group and pay the annual assessment, providing all ditch
companies on the Cache La Poudre River are invited to have a representative participate in the
stakeholder group, and
WHEREAS, the Board deems it advisable to appoint Connie O'Neill, Department of
Public Health and Environment, to serve as its representative.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of
Weld County, Colorado, that participation in the Poudre River Basin Stakeholder Group be, and
hereby is, approved, providing all ditch companies on the Cache La Poudre River are invited to
have a representative participate in the stakeholder group.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the Board that the Director of Finance and
Administration be, and hereby is, authorized to pay the annual assessment.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the Board that Connie O'Neill be, and hereby is,
appointed to serve as its representative on the Poudre River Basin Stakeholder Group.
