Dear Cyndy:
In our on-going effort to keep you informed, I am writing to notify you that a recent AT&T Broadband internal audit
revealed that we have not been collecting the required state sales tax for digital equipment and program guides from
our customers within Weld County. Accordingly, beginning July 1,2001 our customers' bills will he adjusted to
include an additional line item for the applicable state sales tax.
The following bill message will appear on our customers' next bill:
"A recent sales tax audit revealed that we need to collect state sales tax for digital equipment and guides.
Beginning with this bill, a new line item for State Sales Tax has been added to your statement."
AT&T Broadband will not assess any taxes retroactively to our customers.
In addition,AT&T Broadband will restructure the late fee structure in the areas formerly served by Comcast to be
consistent with the rest of the Front Range Region. Effective August 1,2001,AT&T Broadband will assess a late fee
of$2.95 if a customer's payment has not been received by day thirty(30)of the billing cycle(i.e.the date we begin to
generate the next invoice). If payment is still not received fifteen (15)days later, an additional late fee of$2.00 will be
assessed.
The following notice regarding this new late fee structure will appear on our customers' bills beginning July 1, 2001:
"Effective August 1, 2001,AT&T Broadband will assess a fee of$2.95 if your payment has not been
received by day 30 of the billing cycle (i.e.the date we begin to generate your next invoice)and, if payment
is still not received 15 days later, an additional fee of$2.00 will be assessed."
We strongly believe that customers who pay on time should not have to subsidize the fees associated with customers
who do not pay on time. AT&T Broadband's late fee approach addresses the concerns of people who miss their
payment by a few days and who believe they should not incur the same late fee as those who pay later in time.
