RE: SERVICE PLAN - TRI AREA AMBULANCE DISTRICT
A public hearing was conducted on November 21, 1984, at 2:00 P.M. , with the
:'ollowing present:
Commissioner Norman Carlson, Chairman
Commissioner Jacqueline Johnson, Pro-Tem
Commissioner Gene Brantner
Commissioner Chuck Carlson, Excused
Commissioner John Martin
Also present :
Acting Clerk to the Board, Mary Reiff
Assistant County Attorney, Lee D. Morrison
The following business was transacted:
[ hereby certify' that pursuant to a notice dated Cctober 15, 1984, and duly
published October 19, 1984, in the La Salle Leader, a public hearinf, was
conducted to consider the Service Plan submitted for formation of an
ambulance district in southwest Weld County, to be known as Tri Area
Ambulance District. Chairman N. Carlson advised that only four
Commissioners were present and, should a tie vote occur, the absen::
Commissioner would have to review the record and cast the deciding Cote.
Assistant County Attorney Lee Morrison read this matter into the record . Re
reminded the Board that a hearing had been conducted November 7, 1984 , and
continued to today because the Longmont Fire Protection District had not
been properly notified of the earlier hearing. Dave Bierweiler, chief or
the Longmont Fire Protection District, came forward and stated that
district, adjacent to the proposed district, had no objections to thi.;
proposal. Leroy Peter Coter, Attorney, and Cerise Bury, president c... the
3oard of Directors of the present Tri-Area Volunteer Ambulance Service, came
forward. Mr. Doter submitted a letter from :.ongmont United PosxitaL
supporting the formation of this district. At the earlier hearing.
questions were raised concerning the financial planning of this d_ strict -
Ms. Bury said that additional study has been done and it has been determined
that the mill levy will need to be higher than originally planned . After
further discussion, Commissioner Brantner moved to approve the. Service Plan
submitted by the Tr:i Area Ambulance District with the budget amended tx
reflect a more realistic approach with respect to capital reserve, salaries
and projected revenues. The motion was seconded by Commissioner Johjscn .
Commissioner Martin announced that , having been absent from the earlier
hearing, he had listened to the tape of that hearing and would participate
in today's vote. The vote to approve the Service Plan of the Tr Axe '
Ambulance District was unanimous.
