RE: APPROVE PARTICIPATION IN HELPLINE OF WELD COUNTY, APPOINT
REPRESENTATIVE TO ADVISORY COMMITTEE, AND AUTHORIZE CHAIR TO SIGN
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to
Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of
administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners desires to support the United Way of
Weld County in its efforts to benefit county residents in providing a comprehensive information
data base and referral service, and
WHEREAS, United Way of Weld County has established HELPLINE of Weld County,
which is an information and referral service for communities in Weld County, and
WHEREAS, the Board desires to support HELPLINE of Weld County in the amount of
$12,000 per year for a period of three years, as stated in the letter of acknowledgment attached
hereto and incorporated herein by reference, and
WHEREAS, after review, the Board deems it advisable to appoint Donald Warden,
Director of Finance and Administration, to the HELPLINE Advisory Committee.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of
Weld County, Colorado, that participation in HELPLINE of Weld County be, and hereby is,
approved, in the amount of$12,000 per year for a period of three years.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the Board that Donald Warden be, and hereby is,
appointed to represent the Board of County Commissioners on the HELPLINE of Weld County
Advisory Committee.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the Board that the Chair be, and hereby is, authorized
to sign the letter of acknowledgment from United Way of Weld County.

The above and foregoing Resolution was, on motion duly made and seconded, adopted

Dear Don:
We are pleased to acknowledge that Weld County Government will be
supporting HELPLINE of Weld County, Information & Referral service for our
communities in Weld County. This cooperative effort will benefit our county
residents in providing a comprehensive information database and referral service.
It is our understanding that Weld County will provide financial support to
HELPLINE of Weld County and provide a representative to the Advisory Committee
of HELPLINE.
HELPLINE of Weld County is an excellent example of collaboration in our
community. We appreciate all that Weld County Government will do to help make
HELPLINE a success. The real winners, however, are our communities who will be
provided with a resource to help solve problems and an avenue to volunteer their
time. Again, thank you for your commitment to this important endeavor.
