RESOLUTION
RE: APPROVAL OF CONTRACT FOR LEGAL SERVICES BETWEEN WELD COUNTY,
COLORADO, AND KATHY E. DEAN AND AUTHORIZATION FOR CHAIRMAN
TO SIGN
WHEREAS , the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County,
Colorado, pursuant to Colorado statute and the Weld County Home
Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of administering the
affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS, the Weld County Attorney' s Office is under contract
to provide legal services to the Department of Social Services of
Weld County, Colorado, in matters arising under the Children' s
Code of Colorado, and
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners finds it necessary
to employ special counsel to assist in matters arising under the
Children' s Code of Colorado, and
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners has been pre-
sented with a contract for legal services between Weld County,
Colorado, and Kathy E. Dean, a copy of said contract being
attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference, and
WHEREAS , after study and review, the Board deems it advisable
to approve said contract with Kathy E. Dean.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Com-
missioners of Weld County, Colorado that the contract for legal
services between Weld County, Colorado and Kathy E. Dean be, and
hereby is, approved.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the Board that the Chairman be, and
hereby is, authorized to sign said contract.
The above and foregoing Resolution was, on motion duly made
and seconded, adopted by the following vote on the 30th day of
November, A.D. , 1983, nunc pro tunc November 1, 1983.

CONTRACT FOR LEGAL SERVICES
WHEREAS, the Weld County Attorney' s Office is under contract
to provide legal services to the Department of Social Services of
Weld County, Colorado, in matters arising under the Children' s
Code of Colorado, and
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners finds its neces-
sary to employ special counsel to assist in matters arising under
the Children' s Code of Colorado, and
WHEREAS, Section 5-4 of the Weld County Home Rule Charter
allows the Board to appoint special counsel.
NOW, THEREFORE, it is agreed by and between the Board and
Kathy E. Dean, Attorney at Law, 1309 Ninth Avenue , Greeley,
Colorado 80631 , that the said Kathy E. Dean will provide legal
services at the direction of the Weld County Attorney on matters
arising under the Children' s Code of the State of Colorado and
subject to the provisions of the contract now in effect between the Weld County Attorney' s Office and the Weld County Department
of Social Services. Weld County agrees to reimburse special
counsel at the hourly rate of $60 .00 together with all costs
A expended and shall provide for such reimbursement within thirty
(30) days after special counsel has submitted a statement for
services. This agreement is effective, nunc pro tunc to November
T;a 1 , 1983 , and is subject to immediate termination by either party
upon the serving of written notice of termination by either party
upon the other party.
