RE: APPROVE CREATION OF WELD COUNTY HOME RULE CHARTER AMENDMENT
STUDY COMMITTEE AND APPOINTMENT OF MEMBERS
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to
Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of
administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS, in the opinion of the Board, it would be beneficial to establish a Weld
County Home Rule Charter Amendment Study Committee for the purpose of reviewing the
Weld County Home Rule Charter to determine whether or not any amendments thereto would
be appropriate in order to provide better government by the citizens of Weld County, Colorado,
and
WHEREAS, said committee shall exist until such time as it makes its recommendations
to the Board, to be no later than August 10, 2001.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of
Weld County, Colorado, that an ad-hoc committee for the purpose of studying the Weld County
Home Rule Charter and recommending any amendments thereto which said committee deems
advisable and necessary, be, and hereby is, created.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that such committee be, and hereby is, named the "Weld
County Home Rule Charter Amendment Study Committee," shall exist until such time as it
makes its recommendations to the Board, to be no later than August 10, 2001.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Weld County Home Rule Charter Amendment
Study Committee shall consist of the following members: Chuck Carlson, Jackie Johnson,
Duane Kurtz, Don Cummins, Bill Garcia, Mark Gray, Jim Anderson, Wade Carlson, and Bill
Hopkins.
