Because of this new tool, the COGCC is encouraging local governments to access the website for information on pending Applications for Permits-to-Drill, approved Permits-to-Drill, well data and status, well production and monthly Commission hearing notices. The COGCC will continue to send copies of Applications for Permits-to-Drill (prior to approval) by mail or by facsimile if requested by any local government. In addition, the COGCC will continue to send copies of monthly hearing notices by mail if requested by any local government. To access Local Government information, log on to the COGCC website at www.oil- gas.state.co.us and click on the Local Government button. This will take you to the search screen where you can enter the local government name of your choice (e.g., county, city) or search on statewide information. In addition, detailed information on local governments and local governmental designees is available at this site, along with links to the COGCC hearing information and the entire COGCC database. The COGCC has no record of a local governmental designee being appointed for your area. Please complete the attached Local Governmental Designee Form 29, indicating whether or not you wish to participate as a local governmental designee and return it to our office so that we can add this information to our files. It is hoped that the COGCC web query will offer local governments an improved method of information and data retrieval while reducing paperwork.
