COvemor Bob Books Executive Director Board of County Commissioners Weld County P.O.Box 758 Greeley,CO 80632 Dear Commissioners: -- As you know, the Division of Local Government must enforce the--5.5%"statutory;novelty'tax ,y ) revenue limit(CRS 29-1-301,et seq.). We have notified local governments under the"5.5%" limit of our limit calculation with a printed form,Form DLG 53. This was mailed to them after the Assessor's initial certification of valuation of August 25 and again after the December 10 recertification of valuation. Enclosed please find the summary report Revised 2001 Calculations for Rntities Subject to the "5.5°4"Limit in Weld County Who Received Recertification of'Value. The Revi ed summary report includes four columns titled"Allowed Revenue,""Allowed Mill Levy,""County Assessed Value"and"Total Assessed Value." The"Allowed Revenue"is the revenue allowed under the "5.5%"limit. The"Allowed Mill Levy"is the mill levy required to generate the allowed revenue using the current net total assessed valuation. Please note that these are not TABOR limits. The "County Assessed Value"differs from the"Total Assessed Value"if die entity is in more than one county in which case the county assessed value is the valuation reported for your county only and the total assessed value is the sum of the assessed valuations for the entity from all its constituent counties.
