presented for approval at the October 23, 2001,meeting, and information was presented.
The E911 Authority Board has authorized the purchase of a new recording and call-check system.
A formal contract is expected to be signed within the next couple of days. Although there are some
concerns about the system being compatible with the 800 mhz system when it comes up, that will
be addressed later since the current system is outdated and information was being lost.
The E911 Board also put the Reverse 911 project on hold until details can be worked out concerning
the database to be used.
Dispatch was upgraded to ProQA v.11 and all dispatchers have been trained. It is expected that all
consoles will go on line October 1.
Currently,Dispatch is down 5 positions, with a minimum of 150 hours of overtime being scheduled
each month. During last year's budget process, two new positions were approved for 2002,the City
has approved two overhire positions, and within the last month the City and County have agreed to
two additional positions, totaling 6 new positions for 2002.
The 800 mhz project is still not working. When it was initialized in early spring, it worked for
approximately six weeks then problems were experienced which have still not been resolved.
Greeley PD is still operating on the 450 mhz system rather than the 800 mhz. Staff will be meeting
with upper management of Motorola this afternoon, with several options available.
Next meeting will be Tuesday, October 23, 2001, at 10:30 a.m.
