Re: Request for the County to maintain Southgate Subdivision roads
Dear Mr. Kirkpartrick:
I am responding to your request for assistance with the maintenance of roads in Southgate
Subdivision.
On August 21, 1963, the road rights-of-way in the subdivision were accepted by the Board of
County Commissioners by Resolution. In the same resolution, the Board specifically rejected
maintenance of those roads until such time as they were built to County Standards by the
subdivider. To our knowledge, the owner of the subdivision has never made the necessary
improvements.
I have attached a copy of the Resolution noted above for your information. If you have
questions regarding upgrading the subdivision roads to County Standards, I suggest you
contact Frank B. Hempen, Jr., Director of Public Works, at 356-4000, extension 3750 for
further information.

To the office of County Commissoners of Weld County.
The subdivsien of Sonthgate,popnlation of about 35 family: need
something done on the streets . They are getting so bad that after
a rain they are almost impassable. I have maintained them for
about 20 years,but there is no gravel left, therefor I have no way,
of filling the holes. The holes get over 12 inches deep. I hope yon,
can help ns out on this matter.
